January 22: Using Social Media to Raise Your Advocacy Voice
You’re probably already on Facebook. Maybe you’re on Twitter, too. And we know you’re an AAUW advocate with a to-do list for your elected officials. Why not take action through social media?
Learn how to influence, mobilize, and make a difference through social media advocacy with Liz Owens, AAUW’s Political Media Coordinator. This event will take place online via AdobeConnect; read more about this software & setup here.
Register for January 22nd’s online webinar, 6:30-7:30PM Mountain Time, here.
Liz Owens is the political media coordinator in AAUW’s policy shop. Liz creates the social media content for the policy department, including tweets, Facebook posts, and shareable images. The bulk of this content lobbies members of Congress on AAUW priorities. Follow @AAUWPolicy on Twitter to learn more. Liz also crafts press releases and media pitches for the policy department – and sends them out on Twitter of course. Liz has a bachelor’s degree in newspaper journalism from Drake University and a master’s degree in public policy and women’s studies from George Washington University.
