Anyone that’s ever wondered how a website gets updated–or just what “WordPress” even is!–may be interested to know that, in line with our virtual tradition, the eNetwork’s website is maintained by a group of far-flung volunteers. There are news items to post, comments to moderate, information promoting women and girls, and links to social media sites and events that need updating. We collect these, share them among us, and gather monthly to work together, separately, on making the changes. Armed with this camaraderie, a dial-in conference number, and logging in to our website and other social media sites, we make edits, insert links, and gradually improve the site bit by bit. Whatever is accomplished within the hour is deemed a success, and on we go with our busy days. It’s slow at first, poking and prodding the various buttons, but soon the repetitive tasks feel like second nature, and lo and behold, we’ve become experts at certain functions!
